Annual Summer Downtown Parade
Saturday July 20th 2024 starting at 11am is our Annual Summer Downtown parade. the summer parade is located along First Street and will move south from Ivy to Elm Street. The parade is a longstanding tradition to celebrate the Community Fair which also takes place that weekend. Watch out for the firetruck at the end or you might get wet! This year's parade theme is: Stars, Stripes, & Kalama Summer Nights.
Parade Rules:
No throwing candy from floats - for the safety of attendees, please do not throw candy or other items from your float. If you wish to hand something out, please do so along the crowd line to avoid patrons running out toward the moving vehicles in the parade. If you want kids on your float to have something to do encourage waving, blowing bubbles, or something else please!
Animal entries must be accompanied by a clean up person and follow early check-in rules.
Floats must return to the initial staging area by following Elm Street to E. Frontage Road and Kingwood Street to safely disassemble, have minors picked up by parents, etc. Please do not block roadways by doing this elsewhere! Traffic control is key to making this a safe event for all.
No vulgar language or offensive displays allowed. No approaching parade entries from the viewing area (sidewalks and parking spaces).
Kalama Chamber reserves the right to refuse any entry or limit the number of entries.
