The Parade of Lighted Floats
& Holiday Shopping Event

Saturday December 2nd 2023 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm is a downtown Holiday Parade and Shopping/Dining event. First Street will be closed from 4-6pm to cars and open only to pedestrian traffic followed by the parade. Santa will be doing photos near the library building, the Chamber will be selling hot cocoa, and our merchants welcome you to eat, shop and find a spot to watch the parade. The parade will begin at 5pm and the street will re-open immediately following. Please consider having a float in the parade!! Anything lit with holiday lights works great.

Parade Rules:

No throwing candy from floats - for the safety of attendees, please do not throw candy or other items from your float. If you wish to hand something out, please do so along the crowd line to avoid patrons running out toward the moving vehicles in the parade.

Entries should be lit up - after all, it is the Parade of Lighted Floats! Have fun decorating your entry with holiday lights so it can be seen. The parade will take place after dark so the more lights the better.

Animal entries must be accompanied by a clean up person.

Floats must return to the initial staging area by following Elm Street to E. Frontage Road and Kingwood Street to safely disassemble, have minors picked up by parents, etc. Please do not block roadways by doing this elsewhere! Traffic control is key to making this a safe event for all.

Please do not include a Santa or The Grinch in your entry. Both will be attending the parade and we don't want to cause confusion for children!

No vulgar language or offensive displays allowed.

Kalama Chamber reserves the right to refuse any entry or limit the number of entries.

Entries should be submitted no later than November 30th 2023. Late entries may be added if space allows. Do NOT show up without registering and receiving your confirmation email with parade instructions!
