Every July the town enjoys the Kalama Fair, with its Downtown Parade*, Fair Princesses, Queen Coronation, and 4H activities. In August, downtown Kalama is filled with with antique cars for the Untouchables Car Show* and the All City Garage Sales* the weekend of the third Sunday in August.
Halloween* in Kalama is always a great safe event for those young trick-or-treaters. The main street is closed down for a couple hours so the ghostly creatures, super heroes, and princesses can safely go from one business to another to receive their trick or treat!
Christmas arrives in Kalama around the first weekend in December. There are usually free photos with Santa for the kids and other activities to keep the excited youngsters busy. Of course there's the Tree Lighting Ceremony* in Toteff Park. The AMALAK ladies group sponsors either a Tour of Homes or another holiday event. The Kalama Chamber sponsors the Festival of Lighted Boats* as well. To experience the family feeling of our small town, join everyone up at the school for the Christmas Dinner*. The meal is prepared by the AMALAK ladies group (yes, AMALAK is a very busy group). After dinner, Santa gives a gift to each of the youngsters, then we all sing Christmas carols together.
*these events sponsored by Kalama Chamber, others are planned by other organizations in Kalama
