“Twilight” and the sequel, “New Moon” are blockbuster movies featuring vampires and werewolves. The setting is the rainy NW in a small town. Kalama fit the bill like a glove! Our schools, Kalama High School and Middle School, were the setting for many pivotal scenes from the film.

The now famous lower parking lot was where the vampire, Edward, saves the very human Bella from being crushed by a runaway van. This scene exposes Edward as being more than mortal in strength. Many fans of the movie come here and re-enact the heroic feat.

Our wrestling room was converted to a hospital bed for Bella as she recovered from her evil vampire attack.

Many of the outdoor scenes were filmed around the grounds of the school and can be easily accessed by walking. There are maps available in the lower parking lot that show where these places are.

Also available in town and at the school are Twilight inspired shirts, lanyards, magnets and posters. Most of the proceeds go back to the school for student events.

Edwards Birthday Bash is planned for June 18 and 19 with a dance with some bloody refreshments and a variety of contests. School Tours will be available as well as many other activities, stay tuned.
