Grand Openings
The Kalama Chamber of Commerce hosts a Red Ribbon Cutting Grand Opening for all interested new businesses in town, all new members, and all current ones who have made substantial changes or celebrating milestones. The hosting comes with notification of the local media, photos taken of the event, and an article in the monthly Chamber newsletter. This semi-formal event is a great way to learn more about our (new) members and our community.
On July 24, 2010 at 9:00 am Karen’s Quilt Loft held their Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting.
Open since July 01, 2010 Karen’s Quilt Loft is located on the second floor of 124 N. 1st St. and has already attracted customers as far away as Olympia and Texas besides of local quilters ranging from Longview/Kelso down to Ridgefield.
Karen’s Quilt Loft offers everything to do with quilts and sewing materials, alterations, and classes from beginner to advanced.
In September a mystery quilt class will start, lasting 8 months. Hours are Tue. through Sat. 10am to 5pm and Wednesday evening. A website will be in the future
The Survival Bunker at 447 N. 1st St. in Kalama held its Grand Opening June 01, 2010.
The Survival Bunker will be serving not only Kalama but all the local communities with important and needed emergency preparedness products.
They are offering everything you will need for emergency preparedness products from flashlights to cutlery to watches to water purification to sleeping bags to first aid kits and much more. You will even find professional Dive Watches.

Also on June 01, Complete Physique Anytime opened its door at 277 N. 1st St. Offering a complete physical workout and classes, Complete Physique Anytime is here to offer fitness, health, wellness and rehab for anybody 24/7 working with a key-system to be able to give all members access at all times day or night.
A video-system is in place to check all incoming and outgoing traffic. Complete Physique Anytime wants to reach as many people as they can; they have cardio and weight machines as well as free weights.

Friday Nov. 20, 2009 was the date for the Grand Opening of Better Health Massage on 134C 1st St.
After being in business for one and a half year, Sara Hutchinson had the opportunity to open her own massage studio in Kalama, which has a nice relaxing ambiance and is handicap accessible.
Sara provides both deep tissue massage and treatment massage. Taking her massage table and chair, she will make house visits and is available any time of the day for ad-hoc appointments for people that got hurt.
She is also available to do massages during company and family gatherings. Sara grew up in Kalama and after graduating from the Kalama High School, she served in the Army for four years.
